HANDS OFF OUR BOOKS! gives book club memebers a way to fight back against the rising tide of book bannings and assaults on librarians taking place in public libraries and school libraries across the country. Our mission is to bring attention to book censorship and provide financial support to the Freedom to Read Foundation and its legal actions to defend our First Amendment right to read what we choose.

Krug Memorial Fund is dedicated to continuing and promoting the remarkable legacy of Judith Krug, founding executive director of the Freedom to Read Foundation and founding director of the ALA Office for Intellectual Freedom. For over 40 years, Judith worked to protect the First Amendment to the US Constitution and the principles of intellectual freedom, in libraries and beyond.
