FTRF sponsors Jacqueline Woodson: Brown Girl Dreaming

Posted By Administration, Thursday, October 29, 2015

Jacqueline Woodson’s memoir-in-verse, is a rich and poignant description of life as a black child in the 1960s. But in telling her own story so powerfully, she also has painted an indelible portrait of Jim Crow America, both in the South and the North, and resonated with readers and critics alike. The author of more than 30 books, Woodson received the National Book Award for Young People and the Newbery Honor for this latest work. She takes to the CHF stage for a conversation about her life and influences. Artist Krista Franklin will join her for a conversation.
