Please send any changes to Don Wood, Chapter Relations Office. Refer any comments and questions regarding these pages to Don, as well.

Library Advocacy

Most State Chapters take action online for state and federal issues via Capwiz. Under each State Chapter listing, see “Take Action for . . .” link under heading “Library Advocacy.” See also CRO’s Legislation and Advocacy page.

In addition, ALA created the Federal Library Legislative and Advocacy Network (FLLAN) to better share federal legislative and advocacy information with State Chapters. The FLLAN contact is a person designated by his or her state chapter to serve as the primary point of contact in the state for federal issues related to libraries. As federal issues arise,  ALA Office of Government Relations (OGR) staff will communicate with the network contacts to request that they convey the library position to congressional representatives and senators in the contact’s state. To see who your state’s coordinator is, please visit the FLLAN Member Directory.
